Destination Overview
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park:

Location: Kanungu district, southwestern Uganda.
Home to approximately 469 mountain gorillas.
Divided into four sectors: Nkuringo, Buhoma, Rushaga, and Ruhija.
Notable gorilla families: Mubare, Habinyanja, Rushegura, Nshongi, Bitukura, among others.
Mgahinga Gorilla National Park:

Location: Kisoro district, southwestern Uganda.
Houses the Nyakagyezi gorilla family.
Features three extinct volcanoes: Mount Sabinyo, Muhavura, and Gahinga.
Unique habitat for golden monkeys alongside mountain gorillas.
Gorilla Trekking Activity
Permits: Obtain a gorilla trekking permit, costing $700 for Foreign Non-Residents, $600 for Foreign residents, and 250,000 Ugandan shillings for citizens. Habituation experience permits are priced at $1500 for foreigners and 750,000 shillings for Ugandan citizens.

Briefing: Receive a briefing from ranger guides on trekking rules and allocated gorilla family.
