Detailed Tour Itinerary: 7 Days Gorilla Primate Safari

Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival and transfer to your hotel

On arrival at the Airport, you will be received by our safari guide who will transfer you to your lodge for an overnight stay at Central Inn Entebbe. (B.B)

Day 2Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable forest.

Early in the morning, you will be met by our safari guide who will pick you from your hotel and transfer you southwestwards to Bwindi forest. Stopover at the Uganda-equator to take some photos. Continue to Mbarara town the home of the long-horned Ankole cattle where you will have lunch, proceed through the rolling hills of the beautiful countryside until you eventually reach Bwindi Impenetrable forest. Check in your lodge for dinner and overnight at Buhoma community rest camp. (B.L.D)

Day 3Gorilla Trekking and Batwa Pygmies

Today will be the highlight of our safari. After breakfast transfer to the park headquarters to be briefed by the park ranger about mountain gorillas. At 8:00 Am you will set out into the impenetrable forest in groups led by park guides and rangers. The trekking duration is determined by the movements of the gorillas however on finding them you will spend about an hour with them taking photographs, videos as well as observing their amazing way of life. In the evening visit the Batwa pygmies community. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at Buhoma community rest Camp. (B.L.D)

Day 4Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After your breakfast, you will transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park driving through Ishasha part of this park in search of the exceptional tree climbing lions in the fig trees. You will spot large herds of Uganda kobs feeding in the plains. Dinner and overnight at Pumba Safari cottages. (B.L.D)

Day 5Game drive and Boat cruise

Morning game drive along the Kasenyi track to see the early risers plus other animals such as lions, antelopes, elephants, and buffaloes. Return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon enjoy a thrilling boat cruise on the Kazinga channel as you get a closer view of wildlife like large schools of hippos, crocodiles and various bird species like malachite kingfishers, pink-backed pelicans and saddle billed stork. Return for dinner and overnight at Pumba Safari cottages. (B.L.D)

Day 6Game drive- transfer to Kibale National park.

After an early breakfast enjoy a short game drive as you exit the park. You will drive to Fort portal, have lunch at the lodge. In the evening you will go for a nature walk in Bigodi swamp expect to see several bird species and monkeys like black and white colobus, vervet and red-tailed. Dinner and overnight at Kibale forest camp. (B.L.D)

Day 7Chimpanzee tracking – Departure

Breakfast then drive to the park headquarter for a briefing about the do’s and don’t s while with chimpanzees. Rally behind the ranger as you walk deep into the forest. Spend an hour observing and taking photographs. Check out and drive back to Entebbe via Kampala for a shopping spree at the craft market on Buganda road. Drop at the airport in time to catch your flight back home.
