Overview

The 6 days  Gorilla and Chimpanzee safari takes you through the primates capital of the world in Kibale national park where habituated groups of chimpanzees reside. The rain forest is full of enchanting life ranging from various forest bird species to over 9 different primates. After the tracking activity a rewarding drives of Queen Elizabeth National Park, a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel and  through the  famous Ishasha sector to the rolling hills of Bwindi the home to the endangered mountain gorillas. After tracking the gorillas, the following is day is return journey to Kampala to end the trip.

HIGHLIGHTS

Day 1: Pickup from the airport/ and transfer to kibale National park

Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Day 3: Morning Game drive and Boat ride on the Kazinga Channel.

Day 4:  Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park

Day 5: Gorilla tracking and Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi 

Day 6: Transfer back to Kampala/ Entebbe airport for the international flight ti end the safari.

Itinerary

Day 1 Pick Up from Airport/Guesthouse and Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park.

Today you will meet with your guide and then drive to Kibale Forest National Park for overnight. You will have Lunch in Fort portal town. After you will proceed your scenic drive to arriving late afternoon for overnight.

Day 2Chimp Tracking and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Drive to Kibale National Park Headquarters to meet your guides for the day and begin your chimpanzee Tacking experience. Experienced guides, researchers and trackers will accompany your party on an early morning trek into the forest to view wild chimpanzees as well as several other species of primates in their natural habitat. You will have an opportunity to be within meters of these amusing and very social apes for four hours, sharing in their daily lives and experiencing their day-to-day activities and they will take you through the whole habituation process. Drive back to the lodge for Lunch and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park for relaxation dinner and overnight

Day 3Game Drive and Boat Cruise on the Kazinga Channel

We shall have breakfast and head out for a game drive in the Kasenyi plains exposing us to species like African elephants, African Cape buffaloes, Uganda Kobs, leopards, and lions and the park boasts a record of over 600 bird species. After, we shall drive back to the lodge for hot lunch and take a boat cruise on the Kazinga channel. The Kazinga channel is a 42 km stretch, connecting Lake George and Lake Edward with satisfying big herds of buffaloes, a school of hippos, Nile crocodiles, and different bird species like the rare African skimmers and Lesser Flamingos. After the cruise, we can opt for a sundowner at one of the crater lakes or transfer back to the lodge for relaxation and overnight.

Day 4Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

Today After breakfast you will meet your guide and Drive to Bwindi impenetrable Forest National Park for overnight at Rushaga Gorilla Havens Lodge.
Bwindi National Park, located in south western Uganda on the edge of the Great Rift Valley, is considered the most diverse forest in Uganda. The area, one of the few large expanses of forest in East Africa, where lowland and montane habitats meet, contains a dense ground cover of herbs, vines, and shrubs. Home to over 120 mammals, 345 species of birds, 200 species of butterflies, and 160 species of trees, Bwindi is one of the richest ecosystems in East Africa. The park contains almost one half of the world’s population of the endangered Mountain Gorilla, making it an extremely valuable conservation site.

Day 5Gorilla Tracking and Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

Following breakfast at the lodge, travel to National Park Headquarters to meet your guides for the day and begin your gorilla tracking experience. Experienced guides and trackers will accompany your party on an early morning trek into the dense rain forest on the mountain slopes. The journey, through dense foliage and up steep climbs, is abundantly rewarded with the lifetime experience of viewing mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. You will have an opportunity to be within meters of these magnificent apes, sharing in their daily lives and experiencing their day-to-day activities. Mountain gorillas are extremely rare with only an estimated 880 remaining in the wild. This is an experience you won’t soon forget! After trekking transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation and Overnight

Day 6Transfer Back to Kampala/Entebbe to end the safari

After breakfast, you will transfer back to Kampala/Entebbe for your international flight out/drop off at the Hotel to end the tour
