This 4 Days Gorilla and Golden Monkey Trekking trip takes you to the Mgahinga National Park and Lake Mutanda in the southwest of the country. Mgahinga is the smallest national park of Uganda (33.7 sq km) in the southwest at boundaries with Rwanda and DRC. It’s the only park where silver meets gold. This is because of the mountain gorillas coexisting together with golden monkeys. It has 3 ranges of the Great Virunga volcanoes, the Muhabura, Sabinyo, and Mgahinga which it derives its name. The park has over 76 species of mammal and over 400 bird species which include white-necked raven, black kite, and Double-collared sunbird among others

Pickup from the airport by our driver guide who warmly welcomes you to Uganda and gives you guidelines and procedures on how to live and enjoy in Uganda. The guide then gives you the itinerary which guides your day-to-day activities while on the trip in Uganda. The drive to Mgahinga National Park starts, having a Route lunch in Mbarara and dinner at the hotel

After an early breakfast, the driver guide will pick you up and drive to the park headquarters for briefing at 8 a.m. and then tracking. After the tracking, you will drive back to the lodge for a hot lunch and relax, and later in the afternoon do the Batwa community trial, here you will interact with the native inhabitants of the forests who were forced out of the forests and had to start a new life out the forests. Hidden treasures of information are discovered. Evening relaxation at the lodge as we waited for dinner and prepared to embark on our return journey.

After the tracking, you will drive back to the lodge for a hot lunch and relax. In the evening you shall drive to Lake Mutanda and have a canoe ride on the beautiful Lake Mutanda with breathtaking views of the Virunga ranges in the 3 countries Uganda DRC and Rwanda.

After an early breakfast, the drive back to Kampala starts off winding through the rolling hills of Kigezi and breathtaking corners, you will have a lunch break in Mbarara at Agip Motel and then proceed to the Equator at Kayabwe, have a photo moment at Equator monument with a few experiments to distinguish which hemisphere you are in and then continue with the journey to Kampala.
