This 3 Days Rwanda Gorilla trekking safari, allows you to go to the volcanoes national park. The Park is located in the northwestern part of Rwanda. Volcanoes National park lies in the chain of The great Virunga. The Virunga has 7 summits which are Sabinyo, Muhabura, Gahinga, Karisimbi, Bisoke, Nyiragongo and Nyamulangira. The park is lies next Mgahinga and Virunga National Parks in Uganda and Congo respectively. This Park has been made famous as the monument of Dian Fossey (the great primatologist) and home to the endangered Mountain Gorillas and the unique golden monkeys. Besides Mountain gorillas and golden monkeys, the Volcanoes National Park is also a habitat for the black-fronted duiker, bushbucks, elephants, forest buffalos, spotted hyenas, and over 178 bird species.
Meet up with Pakasa Tours and Safaris guide who will brief you about the tour you start with a tour of the city of Kigali which will cover the genocide memorial site where you will learn how over 300,000 people lost their lives in 1994, Kigali, local markets have lunch and visit the King’s Palace as you get ready for 2 hours’ drive to Volcanoes national park. The beautiful continuous hills and valleys uniformly spread throughout the country tell you why Rwanda is called the “Land of a thousand hills”.
Following an early breakfast, drive to the Park Headquarters for briefing Where you will be told what to do and not to do while with the gorillas. It is done at 7:00 am at Park headquarters. After the briefing, trekkers choose Gorilla families to trek. Trekking in Rwanda avails several families, to choose from. They are usually selected depending on the fitness of the trekkers. Gorilla trekking experience can be challenging but gives a lifetime experience as you watch these gentle giants carry on with their daily tasks. It is amazing to watch the little ones chanting and playing around. After interacting with the gorillas for one hour, you will descend to the starting point where you will meet the Pakasa Tours and Safaris’s guide who will drive you back to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. In the evening, you can choose to continue relaxing at your lodge or visit the Iby’iwacu cultural village in Musanze which is adjacent to the park.

After breakfast, at your pace, you will embark on your return journey to Kigali through the gently winding roads and beautiful cities to the airport to catch up your international flight back home. However, you can choose to do your city tour on this day instead of when starting the safari.
