3 Days Murchison Falls National Park
SAFARI OVERVIEW
Murchison Falls National Park is Uganda’s largest and oldest conservation area, first gazetted in 1926 and covering an expansive area of about 3,840 square kilometers. The park hosts over 451 bird species and 76 mammal species and is divided by the Victoria Nile to form the Northern and Southern Banks. The Nile squeezes through an 8m narrow gorge and plunges over 45m, creating the thunderous Murchison Falls. The trip highlight will include sightings of various bird species like the Greater Blue Turracco, the rare Shoebill stork, and more. Game drives are so rewarding. Hiking and boat cruises do not miss out as well in this beautiful Savannah park.

After an early morning breakfast, you will have a briefing by the guide about the 3-day safari. And then set off from your hotel as we embark on our journey to Murchison Falls National Park. We shall pass through Luwero town, proceed, and stop over at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. We shall head to the bush in search of the rhinos. The tracking will take approximately 3 hours. After Rhino tracking, we shall continue to Masindi town for a lunch stopover.
We shall then proceed to the park and visit the top of the falls. Along our way, we shall be able to spot some baboons grooming on the roadside, warthogs, and many other species of the park. The top of the falls gives spectacular views of the Murchison Falls as it squeezes through the narrow 8m gorge and plunges 45m deep. We shall take photos and proceed to the lodge for check-in. Relax at the Safari Lodge in the evening as we rejuvenate for the next day’s activities.
Today after our early breakfast, we shall set off for the game drive. The drive gives the possibility of catching the big cats in action. Other animals frequently seen during the game drive are Lake Chad buffalos, African Elephants, Lelwel’s hartebeest, Nubian giraffes, and Oribis and other species. Common bird species include the Goliath Heron, African Skimmer, and the red-throated bee-eater. Head back to the lodge for lunch and refresh.
After lunch, we shall head for a launch cruise on the Nile to the bottom of the falls. The cruise will expose us to schools of hippos, Nile crocodiles busking by the riverside, and different bird species. Depending on the fatigue, we can go to the lodge for relaxation or continue with a short game drive.
After our morning breakfast, we shall check out from the lodge. Depending on the time of your flight, we can do our last game drive before we exit the park. Our journey to Kampala will take approximately 7 hours. We shall have lunch in Kampala and proceed to Entebbe to catch your flight home to end your colorful and memorable safari with us.
