3 Days Akagera National Park

Meet up with Pakasa Tours and Safaris guide for a meet and greet. This is followed by a briefing on what to do and not to do on your 3 Days safari in Rwanda’s only savannah park. The trip will start with a stop at the Genocide memorial center at Gisozi where you will learn about the dark past of Rwanda during the 1994 civil war that claimed over 300,000 lives. At this particular point is a mass grave for over 250,000 people. After this visit, you will have a lunch break in Kigali city and have a chance to taste some rich African cuisines before embarking on your journey to Rwanda’s only savannah park and home to the African Big 5

Wake up early for your breakfast, and embark on your exploration of the unique game. This starts with a game drive in the endless plains and valleys of the park where various animals like the black rhinos, Giraffes, and elephants; Antelopes like Kobs, bush backs, and Buffaloes, predators such as lions, leopards, and hyenas can be sighted. The rolling hills and the perfectly laid valleys create the interlocking spurs making it a beautiful destination for aerial photography.
After enjoying your two-hour game drive, you will drive to the lodge for lunch and prepare for a boat ride on Lake Ihema. The boat ride will award you with schools of hippos, crocodiles, shoebill storks, and many aquatic animals and various bird species like hammerkop, little cattle egret African darter. After this ride, you will drive back to the lodge for Dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, you will check out of your lodge, bid fare thee well to this beautiful area. You will have an en-route game as you drive out of the park. You will have a chance to spot some animals that you might have missed on the previous game drive. You can opt to have a picnic and enjoy your parked lunch in the park before heading out to Kigali for a city tour and enjoying the beauty of this clean cultural hub of Sub-Saharan Africa. Here you can acquire as many souvenirs as you want before proceeding to the airport for your international flight.
